NOTES | Republica de los Niños is a children's theme park in M.B.Gonnet, a suburb of La Plata. It was inaugurated by Eva Peron many years ago, and remains a popular attraction. A 600mm gauge railway runs through the park, usually diesel-hauled, but the steam loco has been in service relatively recently. Martin Coombs, in his excellent website on Patagonian railways, suggests the loco may have originally worked in Tierra del Fuego, at the Menendez estate. |
